Stopain and Peck Motorsports to Host Juvenile Arthritis Patient at Pocono

This Saturday, August 4th seven-year-old Colin Drummond will have an experience of a lifetime. Diagnosed with Enthesitis related juvenile idiopathic arthritis at the age of 3, Colin and his parents, as well as members of the Arthritis Foundation, Eastern PA Chapter, will be hosted at the Pocono Speedway by Troy Healthcare, LLC, the makers of Stopain®, topical pain relief, and a sponsor of driver Todd Peck in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Peck, 26, has long battled with a form of juvenile arthritis himself, and currently carries the “Kids Get Arthritis Too” decal on his No. 96 Chevrolet.

  

“This is a day about kids having fun. Todd is an excellent example of someone who has had juvenile arthritis most of his life, and has flourished despite it,” said Anthony Cicini, Vice President of Troy Healthcare. 

  

The No. 96 Stopain Chevrolet that Peck drives carries the Stopain logo as well as the Arthritis Foundation and “Kids Get Arthritis Too” logos. The team’s next race will be at the Iowa Speedway in September.

 

‘It has always been important for us to give back to the Arthritis Foundation, especially to the children who suffer from juvenile arthritis,” said Todd Peck. “To have an opportunity with Stopain to give Colin a look behind the scenes will be pretty special. I’m looking forward to it.”

 

According to the Arthritis Foundation, 50 million people in the United States are affected by arthritis, 300,000 of whom are under the age of sixteen. Juvenile arthritis often develops between the early toddler and elementary school years, although in some youth it develops later in the early teens. Signs that a child may have arthritis include swollen joints, stiffness after inactivity, such as sleeping or sitting for an extended period of time, gait abnormality with or without pain and refusal to hold a fork or crayon or pen.
