Jason White Charges to Strong Sixth Place Finish at Charlotte

Jason White and his GB Racing team once again showed that they are a force to be reckoned with in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series as they charged to a strong sixth place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway. After starting near the front of the field for the 134-lap event, a mishap on pit road forced White and his No. 23 JW Demolition/GunBroker.com Ford to the back early in the race but he charged back to the front with a chance to capture his first career victory before settling for a strong sixth place finish in the running of the North Carolina Education Lottery 200.

White started the home turf race from the seventh position – his third top-10 qualifying effort in the first five races of the season. The early part of the race saw White place his No. 23 JW Demolition/GunBroker.com Ford solidly in the top five. The team’s first trip down pit road on lap 25 turned bad when the truck in the pit stall ahead of them had a hard time which resulted in White being blocked in. While Jason entered the pits in the third position he would restart the race from the 31st spot. Once again the No. 23 Ford would show its strength and charge back up through the field and moved back into the top three by lap 75. White would remain towards the top of the field before settling into the sixth position as the checkered flag flew.

“That was a lot of fun out there tonight,” stated Jason White. “Our JW Demolition/GunBroker.com Ford was really strong and I thought we had a really good shot at the win. We got stuck on the bottom on those late restarts and you really needed to be on the outside to get the momentum going. But my team gave me a strong truck and it showed out there tonight. I want to thank JW Demolition for coming on board and I think they had a great time tonight and we did our best to try to give them a win.”

Jason moved up two spots to seventh in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – now 42 points out of the lead and 12 points out of the top five.

“We have been fast each and every week and we got the finish to show for it this time” added Jason. “We need to build on this and start to get results like this each and every race.”
