Tyler Young motivated and ready for return trip to Dover

Fighting through adversity during the NC Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte (NC) Motor Speedway (CMS), Tyler Young, driver of the No.02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado, feels assured that this weekend’s race at Dover (Del.) International Speedway will yield even better results.

Securing an 18th-place finish at CMS allowed the Young Motorsports driver to jump up two positions to 13th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) driver point standings. Continuing to steadily make up ground, Young finds himself just 11 points shy of the top-10, a feat that could be accomplished with a solid finish on the high banks of  the one-mile concrete oval.

Having one previous start at Dover under his belt, Young has an idea of what to expect from Friday’s 100-lap event. However, with crew chief Bryan Berry’s extensive background at the “Monster Mile,” including 10 NCWTS starts and a track-best seventh-place finish with Brendan Gaughan in 2011, Young will be in good hands when the green flag waves on the Lucas Oil 200.

Chasing that illusive first career top-10 finish, Young feels like he has the right combination behind the wall to continue his recent upward swing.

Sounding Off – Tyler Young:

“The Truck Series, in my opinion, is one of the most competitive series in NASCAR and I believe Dover is one of the most challenging tracks we will visit all year. Its high banked, produces high speeds, and it’s a tough little track for both driver and equipment.  I feel like if I can manage my tires and equipment, I may have a chance to survive the Monster Mile and claim my first top-10 finish.”
